Windows 10: Microphone is using my headphone audio instead of picking up my voice

Hello,


I have had this extremely bizarre problem that I cant find a fix for anywhere online.


Basically, instead of using the audio the microphone is supposed to pick up from my voice, it is using the sound that my headphones are emmitting, as if I was the one making that noise.


This is NOT, and I have to stress this, a problem about my microphone picking up the audio from my headphones. When i try to hear myself in the sound settings or using discord's playback, the microphone does not pick up ANY noise at all from my mouth. But if I start playing a video or music, it will playback that exact sound back to me, and I will start hearing double.


This is very weird, as it was doing this with my previous headset, so i bought a new one, a "quasar headset for pc and laptop" and the microphone worked, but now the problem is back. I have 2 3.5mm audio jacks and they are hooked up correctly, green one in the green hole, pink one in the pink hole.


Any help would be appreciated.

Microphone only picks up audio from headphones?

I currently have a pair of razer kraken pro v2's which are plugged into my computer via a headphone splitter. My computer detects my headphones just fine (audio working and all), but when it comes to using the microphone it doesn't seem to pick up my voice at all and only picks up audio coming out through the headphones.

(EDIT): My microphone can now pick up my voice, but it still picks up sounds from my computer. Any way to fix this this?

 

My Microphone is picking up my headphone audio

My microphone seems to be taking the audio output from my headphones and using it as a microphone input. When I am on discord with my friends they can hear everything that happens in my headphones through my microphone and i know it isn't just echoing
because i unplugged the headphones and the microphone still picked up the audio output I've tried everything and I'm desperate. please help.

 

Microphone still unable to pick up sound from Dragon Speech

Not a techie at all sorry but follow your general drift which is interesting. I've now got a mike input (USB Pro Sound) but how do you make the connection to the headphone output as there's two separate wires ?
