Windows 10: Microphone isn't showing up, Headphones showing up as speakers.

Hello there, I recently just a new computer and when I plug in my headphones they show up as speakers. The plug in microphone for the headset also doesn't work and will not show up. I don't know how to fix this and I just want to be able to use my mic to talk with my friends.I am using a Hyper X headset and I know it works on computers since I used them on a previous laptop I had.

To help us identify the cause of the issue and then find the proper resolution for it, please tell us if you made any significant hardware or software changes on your laptop prior to this issue. Also, can you provide us the steps you have already taken to
try to resolve the issue? In the meantime, follow these steps on how you can enable your playback devices:

• Right-click on the speaker icon on the taskbar and select Sounds.
• Under the Playback tab, right-click on the default speakers and select
  Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. Your headphones or speakers should now appear here.
• Right-click the headphones or speakers and select Enable.

1. Did you install all the pending updates and driver updates on your system?

2. Did you make any changes on the system, prior to this issue?

3. Are you facing this issue on the Microsoft account or a local account?

4. What is the make and model of the system and speaker or headphone?

I suggest you to sign out from the current user account, restart the PC and login to the either administrator account or the Microsoft account to check, if that helps.

Also, I suggest you to install any pending updates on the PC to check, if that helps. Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

Windows Update may have updated drivers available that may be relevant to your current issue. Many times, updated drivers are listed in the "Optional" section of Windows Update. Install any pending updates on the pc to check if that helps.

Check for the microphone settings.

Step 1: I suggest you to set microphone as default device and check.

1. Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click "Recording devices"

2. Right click on the blank space in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".

3. Right click on Microphone and then click "Enable".

4. Highlight the microphone and then choose "Set as Default Device".

5. Click Apply and OK.

Step 2: Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled.

Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled. Follow the steps given to check that:

1. Right click on the volume icon and select “Recording devices”.

2. Now, Right Click on an empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.

3. Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled.

Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.
