Windows 10: Microphone issues with XBOX app + no ability to run the Recording Audio troubleshooter

Hello,My son just purchased a new Asus gaming computer, which has Windows 11 installed. We have been trying to get his headset to work with it, but after many tests others can barely hear him speaking. We have three different headsets, plus a standalone microphone. One strange thing is that when we go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters, there is no option to run "Recording Audio". In fact, most of the options are missing. We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

XBox App Recording Audio Issues on Windows 10

Everything in my Audio settings, drives, etc. is up-to-date and works in every other app (i.e. Discord, Skype, etc.). However, when I am trying to record my gaming via the XBox App, the audio will not work. I am not trying to record with a microphone, just
the video and audio of the game. Video works great every time, but no audio with it. Help?

 

Xbox Game Bar Capture Doesn't Record Mic Audio

I understand that you are facing issues while recording microphone audio using game bar while playing games.



I would suggest you to try troubleshooting Game Bar and see if that helps. Refer the article

In addition, you can also check if the Microphone for game bar is enabled under privacy settings.

1. Go to Settings (press Windows +
   I key together) > Privacy.
   
2. On the left hand pane scroll down and look for
   Microphone.
   
3. Toggle Allow apps to access Microphone
   to ON.
   
4. Under Choose which Microsoft Store app can access your Microphone toggle Xbox game bar to
   ON.
   
5. Restart the game bar.
