    I have an Samson Q2U, just bought. When I plug it in through USB, in settings it says "driver not available" in device manager it shows an error: "The drivers for this device are not installed. Code 28There are no compatible drivers for this device."It is shoved under other devices in both settings and device managerManufacturer does not have a driver for the microphone and clearly states that it does not need a driver to function.     I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check the status of this issue.

    Check your microphone’s drivers

    • Type in “Device Manager” in the Search box and select it from the list.
    • Expand Sound, video and game controllers
    • Right-click (or tap and hold) your microphone device and select
      Update Driver Software.
    • Select Search automatically for updated driver software. This option will scan the Internet for the correct version of the driver or determine if you already have the most recent driver installed. You may be
      prompted to restart your computer to install the driver.
    Manually turn up the mic gain

    • Type in “Sound” in the Search box and select
      Sound (Control Panel)
      from the list.
    • Select the Recording tab.
    • Right-click (or tap and hold) on the active microphone input device and select
      Properties.
    • Select the Levels tab.
    Manually drag the Microphone gain to a higher level and click
    Apply.

  3. Can't find microphone driver

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your concern, as you can see the yellow exclamation mark in the microphone device. It clearly states that the drivers are not installed. I suggest you to click on update driver and update it.

    Go to the manufacturer’s website and download the driver, if you can’t find the latest, try to install in compatibility mode.


    • Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

    • Right click on the setup file of the driver and select
      “Properties”.

    • Select “Compatibility” Tab.

    • Place a check mark next to“Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

    • Let the driver install and then check thefunctionality.

    Unable to install the driver for microphone

    I would like to inform that as you said the time period to go back to previous Operating System is 30 days from the day of upgrade. If you want to go back after the time period should use the installation media of the previous Operating System.

    I suggest you to install the device drivers for microphone in compatibility mode by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Download the setup files for the driver and save it on your local disk.
    • Right click on the setup file of the driver and select
      “Properties”.
    • Select “Compatibility” Tab.
    • Place a check mark next to“Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.
    • Let the driver install and then check thefunctionality.
