Windows 10: Microphone not getting detected nor Stereo Mix detecting any audio

I bought a Dell Vostro 3470 desktop PC recently and when I plugged in my earphones in it the speakers got detected but not the mic. So I searched on internet for the solutions and I've tried the following:

1. Tried another headphones and even a standalone mic.
2. Uninstalled drivers from device manager and restarted device This reinstalled the drivers.
3. Ran "recording audio troubleshoot" in which I was presented with these options:
   1. 

• When I tried first one it said that the device is not plugged in even though it was tried both front and back jacks
• When tried second it said that "Stereo Mix" is disabled, which I enabled after this.
• After enabling the Stereo Mix in sound settings input device is now set to "Stereo Mix 2-RealtekR Audio" but it does not detects any sound.

I don't really know what this Stereo Mix is but all I know is that this does not work.

I've exhausted all the solutions I found on internet for this problem so any help will be much appreciated.

Computer won't recognize headset microphone

This is what i see in device manager. Im not sure if the Speakers/Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) is the one your saying to disable, as that is what is default in playback devices in the sounds panel.

Setting Stereo Mix as the default recording device and disabling everything else still didnt get the mic working, even when the headset is plugged into the microphone only audio port or the mic + sound audio port.

That suggests it is TRRS compatible.

Go to the Sounds panel and the Recording Section. "Stereo MIx" should be set as default recording device. That may not fix the mic detection problem but with stereo mix any (detected) input is active.

Also, go to the Device Manager and display the Sound section. It should list the Realtek and possibly an HDMI audio device. If it has any others, such as the generic "HIgh Definition Audio Device", disable that, restart the PC and then see if its detected.

 

Headset Microphone not detected

I have a headset plugged into my 3.5mm headphone jack. I'm getting audio from the computer to my headphone, but the headphone microphone is not found/detected in any way. It will only detect my Notebook's microphone, which isn't what I want. I tried another
headphone that has a mic, but it still doesn't work. I tried checking for updates in the device manager, tried to uninstall it and install it again. I tried checking the configuration, disable and enable the Stereo Mix, tried making the Microphone the default
as well as the Stereo Mix as the default. I seemed to have done every single troubleshoot that seem possible, but nothing is working. I keep getting the Notebook Mic no matter what I do. I tried checking the Samsung website for driver, I don't see anything
for Windows 10. It's driving me crazy, because I'm trying to use my Rosetta Stone, but there's way too much background noise to use the computer Microphone. Please, anything will help.
