Windows 10: Microphone not working despite being detected

My microphone on my headset has suddenly stopped working on my pc despite my headphones working fine. I tried updating to windows 24H2 but that did not resolve the problem. My microphone shows up in the settings where it says "in use" despite no audio actually being detected. Things I have already tried:1. Connecting my headphones to another device, the microphone worked perfectly.2. Connecting a different set of headphones to my pc, the microphone worked perfectly.3. Connecting my microphone to the back panel, the microphone still didn't work.4. Checked my privacy settings, access was enabled

Microphone DETECTED, but not working

Hey there,

FYI I'm using an audio adapter for my earphone.

The microphone is detected but doesnt work whether plugged in front or rear panel, though the audio works just fine. And I can't seem to find anybody having the same issue

Things I've checked:

• Drivers updated
  
• "Allow apps to use" turned on
  
• Disabled and re-enabled microphone in device manager
  
• Set microphone as default
  

I've also troubleshooted but it didnt detect any problems at all

Is there any other solutions that may help?

I suggest you to run a Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

Please follow the below mentioned steps to run
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

• Search for Troubleshooting in the
  Search box, and run it.
• Select view all in the left pane of troubleshooting Window.
• Click on the Hardware and Devices, and follow the
  on-screen instructions.

I gave you many steps to force the headset microphone to show up. They would take more than an hour to perform, plus the way a forums works is interactively so we don't just give up after the first post but use feedback about your results to suggest more
steps.
