Windows 10: Microphone not working for any headset

So today my computer microphone no longer works. I last used it last Monday on discord, have not restarted and no other changes have been made. Today I log into discord like usual and notice the mic doesn't work. Using Razer Baracuda X. Unplugged and went to wife's laptop and headset works fine. Tried another headset on my computer same issue, no mic. Googled and troubleshot the most common issues but everything was set right. Tried Uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. Contacted someone in windows support who tried to remote assist and help but then they did something and Blue s

• If yes, can you try if the microphone of the headset would work on a different computer?
• Does the port for the jack on your computer is capable of supporting microphone?

Headsets microphone is not working

Here's what you can try:

1. Navigate to Settings > Privacy > Microphone

2. Click the Change button, then make sure Microphone for this device is turned on.

3. Make sure Allow apps to access your microphone is turned on.

If you still continue to have the same problem after doing the troubleshooting steps, then proceed to the steps below:

1. Navigate to Control Panel > Sound

2. Select the Recording tab, then right click on any empty place inside the device list and tick Show Disabled Devices.

3. Right click the Headset Microphone and click Enable.

4. Right click it again and select Set as Default Device.

5. Right click Headset Microphone and click Properties.

6. Click the Levels tab, then drag the volume slider towards the largest value.

7. Click OK

Your android headset or your apple headset stop working in January? It's not clear from your answers.

Your IT people should be able to figure out realtek driver issues and microphone sensitivity/volume issues for your android headset. Figure that out first.

You are chasing some faraway apple headset issue. Is your IT manager using the same laptop? Is it really the same apple headset? iPhones don't have audio jacks for a while and there are earbuds with volume controls and there are earbuds without. They look mostly the same.
