Windows 10: Microphone not working in Discord, Zoom or other program.

I want to share my problem solving this week when my internal microphone did not work when trying to communicate with people online. The microphone seemed to detect minimal sound when looking at the "input level bar" in program settings Discord & Zoom as if some kind of limiter was on, although people on the other side could barely hear me... I didn´t think more of it at that time. What I did was looking for driver updates for the internal mic, tried to troubleshoot never works, updated to windows 11 from 10, reset the computer, went back to windows 10 and nothing worked. Hi! I have a problem with my mic settings.

First, I need to use my microphone in Zoom and Discord Confferences and it doesn't work. I tried the settings offered by the apps to be sure the problem is not from there because, you see, when I use to record my voce on the internet browser it works, but
when in apps it doesn't.

I have seen that there is a setting you need to change in Microphone settings to allow which apps to access my microphone. The problem is that ZOOM and Discord are not shown in the list. Can you please help me fix this? what changes I need to make so that
ZOOM and Discord to be shown in that list?

Also, you may go to Settings > System > Sound > under Input, select the Microphone then Troubleshoot

 

Microphone works in windows, but not in any programs.

I've had this issue for a couple days and haven't been able to find a solution. I have a Razer headset that has always worked. I recently upgraded my graphics card but everything else is the same. Since I upgraded the graphics card, none of my programs (zoom, discord, game chat) have been detecting any input from my microphone. However, when I test the microphone on windows (cortana, settings) everything seems fine, and troubleshooting doesn't detect any errors. I have tried:

• Checking the security/privacy settings for microphone access
  
• Setting microphone as default
  
• Checking sound settings
  
• Reinstalling audio drivers
  
• Reinstalling graphics card drivers (NVIDIA)
  
• Testing my microphone on another computer (it worked)
  
• Testing someone else's microphone on my computer (it didn't work)
  
• Rebooting
  
• Unplugging the earphone jack from the USB converter, and plugging it into the front panel earphone jack.
  
• Verifying settings within the programs
  
• Resetting my PC and re-installing windows
  

Further, I ran the speech recognition wizard and it changed how much was being detected in Discord. After I did this, it went from not detecting anything, to barely detecting when I was yelling really loud into the microphone.
