Windows 10: Microphone not working in Windows 10

I have installed windows 10 and cannot get my microphone to work with my Realtek Hyper X headset. I have installed and updated drivers. If I plug the microphone piece into the microphone jack on the front of my computer it seems to work.


I have looked at several of the similar questions here. Right clicking the speaker icon next to the time and date I do not get the recording option That the answers to the other questions mention i get, Open Sound Setting, Open Volume Mixer, Spatial sound off, and troubleshoot sound problems. Going into the sound setting and troubleshooting the microphone everything is ok. I have to open the control panel then go to sound to get to the recording option. When I look at the properties for my headset I go to levels, the headset micro phone is at 0. The blue slider cannot move. You also cannot enter anything in the decibel box. You can click the speaker button to mute and unmute. You can click balance and open the balance window, once again the two blue sliders are at 0 and cannot move. It seems like the volume for my microphone is stuck at zero and I cannot change it.

Since I installed windows 10 my microphone is not working. I tried ALL the steps that you suggested in other threads and the microphone still doesn't work! Please find urgently a solution!

The issue could be because of the microphone being in a disabled state. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works:

• Open Control Panel and categorize to view by
  Small Icons.
  
• Click on Speech Recognition and navigate to
  Advanced Speech Options > Microphone > Advanced
  
• Check Real Conexant HD Audio, save the changes and exit
  Control Panel.
  
• Restart the machine to see if the microphone works.
