Windows 10: Microphone not working on windows 10

I’m losing my mind.

Some context: I have a steel series 650 Siberia gaming headset. A few days ago, I moved my computer into a different room. When I plugged back in my headset, the microphone suddenly stopped recognizing my voice. Instead there is this constant tic tic tic tic sound that plays in perfect intervals, like a metronome, whenever I use an online mic tester to check if my progress has resolved the issue; it hasn’t.

I know the headset works because I’ve tested it on other devices. I’m using windows 10. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers. They’re all up to date. I’ve changed all privacy settings as required. I have the latest Siberia 650 software.

any advice will be greatly appreciated !

microphone not working on windows 10

Since I installed windows 10 my microphone is not working. I tried ALL the steps that you suggested in other threads and the microphone still doesn't work! Please find urgently a solution!

The issue could be because of the microphone being in a disabled state. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works:

• Open Control Panel and categorize to view by
  Small Icons.
  
• Click on Speech Recognition and navigate to
  Advanced Speech Options > Microphone > Advanced
  
• Check Real Conexant HD Audio, save the changes and exit
  Control Panel.
  
• Restart the machine to see if the microphone works.
