Windows 10: Microphone Not Working on Windows 11 with HyperX Clutch Gladiate Controller Headset Connection

I have my HyperX Clutch Gladiate controller connected to my Windows 11 PC via USB, with a headset plugged into the controller’s 3.5mm audio jack. I can hear audio, but the microphone isn’t working. Windows detects both “Headphones Xbox Controller” and “Headset Microphone Xbox Controller” under Audio inputs, and “Xbox Controller” appears in Device Manager under Xbox Peripherals.I’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps from a Microsoft forum post where another user had a similar issue with a different controller model link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/headset-micro

Why is the microphone in headset not working?

I bought a HyperX Cloud 2 headset, but when I connected it to the PC, the microphone did not work. I tried everything. What could be the problem? I'm on Windows 11

I understand it can be frustrating when the Microphone is not working properly after upgrading to Windows 10. For further clarity on the issue and to guide you accordingly, respond to the questions listed below:

1. Are you facing the issue only with Discord application?
   
2. Have you tried using any other headset/microphone?
   

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps.



Method 1:



Try disabling NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device and check if that helps.

1. Press Windows key + R. This will open
   Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run.
   
2. In Run dialog box, type
   devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
   
3. Now expand the Sound, video and game controllers.
   
4. Right click on NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM) and click on
   Disable.
   

Method 2;



Update the firmware for HyperX Cloud 2 gaming headset, you can download the firmware from the official

website of HyperX.

microphone on the headset doesnt work

Original title: Laptop Microphone totally ignores headset microphone

I have a laptop with an integrated microphone, whilst having a headset with a microphone included.

The microphone on the headset doesnt work, only uses the laptop microphone which is really hard for me to chat with my buddies.

I can hear fine on the headset, the microphone doesnt do anything.

Can someone give me the resolution for this problem?

(My headset is a HyperX - I dont know what type but its a HyperX.)
