Windows 10: Microphone not working Windows 10

Hi, I have a mic that connects to my headphones, and when I use programs like Skype and Discord, or really any program that uses the microphone, those programs only use my webcam microphone, which is busted. If I go into windows settings, it only recognizes the webcam mic. These headphones are marketed for PS4, is there a problem there? Personally I think it's a driver issue but there isn't anything missing in device manager and I can playback audio with absolutley no issue.


The microphone itself is fine, I can use it on other computers no problem.



If it's relevant, I had my webcam mic repaired a while ago it broke again not too long after and i'm not gonna bother fixing it, and ever since then i've had issues with the microphone.


If there's anything I can do on my end, please let me know.

Since I installed windows 10 my microphone is not working. I tried ALL the steps that you suggested in other threads and the microphone still doesn't work! Please find urgently a solution!

The issue could be because of the microphone being in a disabled state. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works:

• Open Control Panel and categorize to view by
  Small Icons.
  
• Click on Speech Recognition and navigate to
  Advanced Speech Options > Microphone > Advanced
  
• Check Real Conexant HD Audio, save the changes and exit
  Control Panel.
  
• Restart the machine to see if the microphone works.
