    Microphone not working

Hello, i updated my laptop and now my microphone is not working. audio works fine. i've tried restarting, rebooting and different headphones. my drivers are all up-to-date. I use 64 bit processor core i5 windows 10 home edition HP laptop. Everything worked perfectly before i updated my windows. for example, "discord is using your microphone" when the microphone is not working on anything. i recently talked with someone who was named [microsoft advisor]. He told me to uninstall some drivers and check for hardware changes, then restart. it did not working and i don't know what to do. audio works fine, microphone does not work. i've talked to at least 25 different people and they have no helped what so ever. please, i need answers.

    :)
