Hi, I've encountered some problems on my computer. When I plug in my headphones, their audio is perfectly fine, however the mic doesn't work whatsoever. I've checked the device properties, tried using the decibel boost feature, made sure it was the correct microphone, and restarted plenty of times. I installed generic device driver that was compatible, and that didn't fix it. The microphone works perfectly fine on my brother's chromebook, as well as my phone and ipad. Testing the microphone, it didn't pick up anything, and the built-in microphone could only capture 1% of full volume when I was

Computer Not Using and or Not recognizing Headset Microphone

Recently I got a gaming headset but upon plugging in the headset my microphone jack, I realized my computer was not picking up audio from the headset mic. I have looked through other forums but I still cannot find a solution to this problem. I have looked at the sound settings and saw that under the recording category, It shows a second microphone device that is only accessible by plugging in my headset. But when doing so I've noticed that when talking into my headset mic the recordings menu does not show any signs of sound. But if I tap my headset the sound meter goes up. This makes me think that my computer only picks up sounds around the headset and not the mic itself.

Other Info
1) For my sounds, video and game controllers in the Device Manager I have High Definition Audio Device and Intel(R) Display Audio listed.
2) I have a windows 7 upgraded to windows 10

 

Apple Headset/Microphone not working

Windows 10, have 3 Apple headsets. I can hear audio just fine but the microphone isn't recognized at all. I tried this on multiple laptops and while the audio is fine, I cannot get the microphones to work. It's the Apple wired earbuds. Windows isn't even recognizing that the microphone is there, it keeps defaulting to Realtek microphone on the laptop. I can't find drivers for this headset. I even spent three hours with Apple trying to troubleshoot and they FedEx'd me three brand new headsets. Well seems the issue persists even on the three new items. Any ideas. Even my IT guys at work can't figure out how to fix it.
