    Microphone randomly gets input delay

Hello, I just upgraded my pc with a new motherboard and CPU. I did a fresh install of Windows and installed all my drivers. After all of this, and after using my computer for a while I notice that my microphone has a whole second delay on it. I found a temporary fix by changing my sample rate, but I never had to do this before. I have an audio technical at202 and a Focusrite Scarlett solo. any help is appreciated.

    :)

  2. Microphone Causing Input Delay

Whenever I use my microphone to record, or chat with friends on discord and I play Minecraft Bedrock, I always notice input delays (keyboard, mouse, etc). It is very annoying because it only happens in bedrock, and no it's not because of 1.16.200. I do play on bedrock 1.18, but I use the Non Render Dragon version (Render Dragon was the engine introduced in 1.16.200 that was used for RTX) and that engine was what caused all the previous issues (slight camera smoothing, input delays). Also when I used to record videos with microphone on my old laptop with very old GPU and bad CPU, the gameplay itself was fine (not the recordings tho, the audio was stuttery and it was very laggy but im talking about the actual GAMEPLAY not the recording) so I don't understand how I didn't have input issues while using my microphone then vs now. Any solutions? (My new laptop is decent so I don't know why it's doing this and it really annoys me).

I use Windows 10, I record on Xbox game bar, but I think the issue is the microphone over all.

    Microphone Causing Input Delay

Hello, I'm Louie, and I'm happy to help you today. Hope you're doing well and safe there. I'm sorry that you're having trouble with your microphone.

If you’re having this issue with a specific app, scroll down to Choose which Microsoft Store apps can access your microphone and make sure that the toggle next to that app is turned On as well.

Try also running the Recording Audio Troubleshooter while your headphone is connected.

    1. Open Start Menu.

    2. Type and search for "Troubleshoot settings". Open it.

    3. In the right pane, if you can't see the said troubleshooter or no recommended troubleshooter is listed, click on Additional troubleshooters.

    4. Now, look for the said troubleshooter and click it.

    5. Click on "Run the troubleshooter"

    6. Select the microphone of your headphone and proceed.

If that doesn't help, kindly roll back, update or reinstall your audio input driver of your headphone by following the steps below:

To roll back the said driver (restore the previous installed driver):

    1. Open Start Menu.

    2. Type Device Manager and Open it.

    3. Double-Click on the category "Audio inputs and outputs".

    4. Under this category, right-click on the driver of your audio input device and select "Properties".

    5. Click the "Driver" tab and look for "Roll Back Driver" button* below and click it.

    6. Next select a reason why you're rolling back and click Yes.

    7. Restart your computer.

*If the option to roll back driver is grayed-out, the reasons are the following:

    - Your computer hasn't had a previous driver installed for the said device.

    - Your computer did not retain the driver files from the original version installed.

If that doesn't work, kindly try updating the said driver:

    1. Locate again the said driver

    2. Right click on it and select "Update Driver".

    3. Next select "Search Automatically..."

    4. Restart your computer.

    5. If the issue persists, repeat step 1 to 2, and now select "Browse my computer for drivers"

    6. Click on "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer".

    7. Make sure the option "Show compatible hardware" is checked.

    8. Select Generic device first and click Next. Check your audio input and if the issue is still there, try other device on the list.

If that doesn't still work, please try uninstalling the said driver:

    1. Locate again the said driver

    2. Right click on it and select "Uninstall device".

    3. Restart your computer. It will automatically search and install the driver.

If the issue still persists, kindly go to Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update. If there is a "View optional updates", click it. Next, click on Driver updates and see if your headphone driver is listed there. If so, check that driver and click on "Download and install".

I would also recommend you to try the steps provided on the support link below for solutions regarding microphone issues:

Hope this helps and looking forward for good results.

    Sincerely,

  4. Microphone randomly gets input delay

    Microphone Causing Input Delay

Hello, I am back. The solution was only temporarily solved, sadly. Today I was in a call and discord wasn't detecting my input, apparently in settings the microphone was disabled for all apps, and I didn't flip the switch so I don't know if the update caused that. I turned mic on and discord still wasn't picking up my voice and when I tried to record on Minecraft bedrock with mic on, it had the input delay again. I checked back the test recording I made after I updated the driver last time and there was no mic audio in the recording. I also didn't state this but I use the Microphone Array, im not sure if it's because of that. Im sorry, are there any other suggestions to help fix this? Because as I said on my other laptops I had no problem recording with mic or recording while talking in chat programs, and on all I used Mic Array. (The input delay only occurs in-game when im recording with mic(or chatting on discord with mic). For example when I press a key to strafe left, its strafes but then when I press d, it takes a second to respond to strafe right.)

Im sorry if the issue sounds confusing, I only found one other post ( Redirecting ) that had the same problem as me so I guess its rare.
