    Microphone randomly started to echo


    I'm on my Windows 11 laptop and I use wired earbuds with a microphone. Up until this moment, I never had a problem with it. All of a sudden, while I was in a call, my microphone randomly started to echo like crazy. I figured my earbuds must've ran its course and I needed new ones. I got new ones, and the problem STILL persists! I did notice, however, this problem isn't prevalent when I used the Xbox App on my laptop. I tried messing around in the sound mixer settings but the problem is still going on. It echoes on most apps such as Discord and Zoom, but NEVER on the Xbox App. Does anyone know

    Microphone Echo Effect

    Recently out of nowhere my computer has started echoing. The microphone is not cancelling anything out. The most important thing to note here is this wasnt an issue for weeks.

    We have an aftermarket microphone and speakers. Again, no issues what so ever. Then all the sudden we started having this weird echo problem on calls which doesnt work with work from home.

    We have reinstalled drivers and tried everything. It does it with everything, headsets, standalone laptop microphone, everything is echoing. We have disabled the "listen to this device" and it makes it worse. What happened and how can we fix this???? Suddenly
    everything went wrong.

    I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

    Depending on the hardware of the microphone, there are some extras to avoid echoes.

    To check if your microphone has these features:

    1. go to start menu select settings

    2. go to the sound system tab.

    3. Select the sound control panel option and then the recording tab.

    4. Select your microphone driver and click properties.

    5. in the custom tab and a list with features will appear with the option of echo cancel.
