Windows 10: Microphone Realtek AudioR or Default Audio not working.

My laptop microphone, which was working very well as of 2pm last night, is not working in any way as of today. I cannot send any input via Discord or Whatsapp. Or I cannot record any voice in my PC.There is no situation where the Microphone is disabled or not connected in any way, it does not receive any input directly.I have done most of the solutions except the "Reinstalling drivers." There are no problems with options such as updating drivers or setting applications accessing the microphone.Device name DESKTOP-IOH4RRU Processor IntelR CoreTM i5-10200H CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz Installed

Sennheiser GSP 350. Microphone stops working when I open any game

Wow, ok. I think I've fixed it by accident while fiddling around.

It appears to be the Realtek audio being the issue here. I don't use my onboard sound card as my headset is a USB headset only and my speakers are plugged into an ASUS sound card.

Step by step fix:

• I went into recording devices
• I enabled STEREO MIX (Realtek High Definition Audio)
• Then I set that Stereo Mix as the DEFAULT DEVICE (At this point it took over both input and output devices without my permission )
• Then set my Sennheiser headset as default recording and playback devices in their respective windows even though they both still said they were the default devices when they weren't

Headset microphone is currently functioning while in game now. I'll update the thread if it goes again. Should I completely disable Realtek audio??? Or will windows just force it to work again?

My laptop has two separate 3.5 jacks for speaker + microphone. However, the speaker jack can still operate the microphone if the headset has a built-in microphone (this is confirmed because I bought a used laptop)

i don't know since when i've had this problem, because i usually use type-c port headphones, and it works fine. I recently switched to 3.5mm type headphones

about my laptop having nahimic. i tried uninstall nahimic. then select input using realtek(R) audio microphone. however the microphone still doesn't work, so the problem I'm having is definitely not nahimic related

Driver update shows the driver name (realtek high definition audio). but when restarting the laptop, the driver still shows the name realtek (r) audio.

Is that really normal?
