    Microphone settings

I have been trying to learn how to play guitar on a app I downloaded recently (middle of October). The guitar goes through my microphone on my computer and makes sure I am hitting the right notes and cords. Recently, I have been playing and the app was unable to pick up my guitar sounds. This is a new issue that I have been having and I was wondering if since the updates that you have given my computer since then have had anything to do with it. The app is called yousician, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice now with no luck. I have gone into my microphones settings and changed that around as well, but nothing seems to be working. My computer microphone can pick up the guitar sounds but for some reason the app cannot. I do believe that this is not the apps fault, but I am unsure on what to do next. Thanks.

    :)

    Microphone issues

    Hi Michael,

Here are the possible reasons why you're getting an error "The microphone did not pick anything up" when using it:

    • Incorrect settings (microphone is not set as default device)
    • Corrupted or outdated driver
    • Faulty device

For us to isolate the issue, we'd like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made to your computer prior to this issue(e.g. Windows updates)?
    • Have you tried connecting other microphone to your computer?
    • Have you tried connecting the microphone to the other computer?

In the meantime, we suggest running the Recording Audio Troubleshooter to find and repair problems with recording sound. We also suggest checking if your microphone is set as your default recording device. For troubleshooting steps, please see
    Geethu B's on this
    link.

We're looking forward to your reply.
