    Microphone Stopped Working After Windows 10 Update (Version 1803)


    As the title says I have encountered this problem once I had to get this mandatory update. I did a rollback the previous build I had and the microphone (detachable microphone for headphones) was working fine. Nothing wrong with the cable and drivers are up to date. The headphone/microphone is already the default device. So again, this mandatory update happened and well the microphone stopped working again. Any help would be appreciated.

    Microphone not working properly after upgrade to 1803


    After upgrade to 1803 my microphone is not working properly. I googeld and found many times this answer:


    • Hit Windows key and search for "microphone privacy settings"
    • Hit "Allow access to the microphone on this device"
    • Switch "Allow apps to access your microphone" to ON
    Among the apps that are showing is Edge. There the mike is working, but on chrome and my games microphone is not working

    Microphones stopped working after update...

    After feature update windows 10 version 1803 installed on May 2, 2018 my microphone on my headset stopped working and no other mic will work... I can hear perfectly fine, just no talking/recording.

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled the hardware, updated drivers, restarted services, updated bios, checked every setting to make sure I wasn't muted or turned down, that the device was set properly as default, googled and followed the steps for the error
    that comes up with the troubleshooter "audio services not responding"... nothing.

    Anyone else have the same issue? Can anyone help? I miss my microphone!
