Microphone tests okay, but does not work.

When I test my microphone using the settings in WIndows 10, the microphone shows recording levels. But when I attempt to use, it does not work. I could not get it to work in Cortana, Edge, or Chrome. Tried troubleshooting multiple times. I tried to manually load a different driver. Generic Nothing I've tried works. It did work about a month ago. Did an audio chat over Discord. When I tried to set up another conference a couple of weeks later, nothing. Frustrating part is when I am in the settings for Windows 10 it appears to be working, bar floats to match my talking. In a test using Total Recorder, I was able to make a recording, but the recording level appears to drop after just a few seconds. To explain, I spoke a paragraph, and during playback, I could hear the first few seconds, then the sound level dropped over time, so that after about 5 seconds I could not hear anything.

    :)

  3. Audio Recording Problem. Microphone not working

    Okay so...

I followed the steps on the first link and it worked, but when also listing to music or playing a game, the people who I was talking to could hear my game or music. This lead me to a undo what I did and turn the microphone boost back down to 0 (I turned
it up to 10 dB) and left the Microphone at 100 (which is what I always had it at), during all of this I was talking to a friend and before I started to follow the steps on the second link I tested to see how I sounded. He said that it was perfect and back
to how I usually sounded, so THANK YOU I guess..
