    Microphone doesn't work for Cortana

    troubleshoot microphone or go to in settings- region and speech- speech and under microphone click setup microphone. this helps for cortana

    microphone on the headset doesnt work

    Original title: Laptop Microphone totally ignores headset microphone

    I have a laptop with an integrated microphone, whilst having a headset with a microphone included.

    The microphone on the headset doesnt work, only uses the laptop microphone which is really hard for me to chat with my buddies.

    I can hear fine on the headset, the microphone doesnt do anything.

    Can someone give me the resolution for this problem?

    (My headset is a HyperX - I dont know what type but its a HyperX.)

    I just found a mic that I got with an old PC years ago and it just works. I'll see if I can find it online for sale.
    Edit: Found it.. it's just like this one:

    Thank for the reply but that looks a bit too big for my desk and i was hoping for something under 30. Under 30 small and works with cortana, tough needle to thread maybe
