  1. Microsft Windows 10 lagging due to System Interrupts

    Hi,

My Windows has been lagging and the pointer has been flickering for quite a while and when I open the resource monitor it showing me a high CPU using the deferred procedure calls. I have tried running the WPR and found that vgk.sys and ntoskrnl.exe are taking high CPU time. Is it a driver issue or a hardware issue altogether.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Random lag spikes

    Hi,

We would like to know more about your lag issue:

    • What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
    • Does the lag occur in a particular game?

In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

    • Press Windows Key + X.
    • Click on Control Panel.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • On the left pane, click on View All.
    • Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

System Interrupts Spiking and locks up the PC on Windows 10.

Thanks you for the suggestions Likhitha!

We ran each of the steps recommended and the System Interrupts is still spiking every 3 to 4 minutes. This installation of Windows was originally installed on a different motherboard, but due to a defect, the motherboard was replaced. Don't know if that
may have a bearing on this issue. Appreciate any other feedback that may be available. This version of Windows ran perfectly for several months with the new motherboard and the problem is a very recent occurrence.
