Windows 10: Microsoft 10 Home Purchase and New Motherboard

Just short of purchasing windows home 10, I was able to install it on my motherboard but then shortly after my motherboard stopped working. I'm returning my motherboard and getting a refund on it, however, I wanted to know if the key will still work on my new motherboard. I hadn't had the chance to even really do anything, as it was days after installing that my motherboard stopped working. Will the key still work or will I have to get a refund for windows home 10 and then repurchase it? Thanks!

Plugging it into the new motherboard should be enough, but create a recovery drive in case you need to perform a startup repair:

The fact that you don't have a license key concerns me. If Windows 10 came preinstalled on your computer, you can't transfer it to a new computer or motherboard. You will need to purchase an entirely new license.

New Motherboard

I am in process of building a new computer. If I download Windows 10 Home from the Microsoft Store now will I be able to use it to install on the new motherboard. If so what steps do I need to take once I download and activate it.
