    Microsoft 10 update fail

I have a Toshiba Satellite L750 that used to be Win 7 but was updated/clean install? to Win 10. It has been able to update. but there was one update that it said it needed to do, but could not go through with it fully. Yesterday it finally had internally downloaded all those update files I assume so it said it wanted to actually do the update. Unfortunately once it updated now it will not boot up anymore. It got to about 25% that I noticed in the upload where the win icon is showing, then turned off, and after that just turns on for a second enough to see the Toshiba logo and F2 screen to enter Insyde H20 Utility then off, then turns on, off etc. - it did this for 30mins before I tried turning off the power myself and turning it on again. - but the loop continues.

I thought it had over heated as some posts had suggested, so I took out the battery, waited to cool the machine down even icepacks under it but the loop still happens when I turn it back on. Before the upgrade the computer kept asking for my password to set up 'onedrive' but I never got around to that as I wasn't using onedrive.

I cannot enter safe mode, can't do F8, and I cant get into the recovery console switching off mid boot 3 times hasn't worked plus I never see a windows logo. I can press F2 to get into the Insyde H20 Utility but I don't what to do. It keeps looping/flickering on and off with the brief toshiba screen unless I turn it off. I have just realised that function f12 works but I don't know what to do from there.

What shall I do? I am fine for it to be Windows10 - SO LONG AS IT WILL WORK. I don't care about any files as I have a backup.

Please, please, help. I've looked at lots of forums that seems to have some iteration of problems with windows 10 but I can't get into safe mode/recovery console so I can't use some of those methods.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 fails to update

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

  3. Windows 10 fails to update

    Thanks,

The Users list compared to the Profile list you posted earlier tell me there is not an issue with Users (a known issue where there is a profile in the list, but not actual User folder).

The error code suggests corruption in the CBS manifest:
Try these steps one at time until the issue is resolved or you run out of steps.

    Is Windows activated?
    No? Activate Windows 10

    Launch Command Prompt (Admin)
    enter the following line
    reg query HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate /s
    If DisableWindowsUpdateAccess REG_DWORD 0x1

    launch regedit
    navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
change the value of DisableWindowsUpdateAccess to 0
    exit regedit
    exit Command Prompt

    Launch Windows Update

Try the next suggestion if the issue is not resolved.

Restore health to the component store
DISM - Repair Windows 10 Image

To Run SFC /SCANNOW Command in Windows 10

If there are integrity issues reported on screen,
Follow the instructions in >> OPTION FIVE <<
To View Only the "SFC" Scan Results from the CBS.LOG

If there are no integrity errors, Launch Windows Update

Try the next suggestion if the issue is not resolved.

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\TroubleshootingLaunch System and Security > Fix problems with Windows Update
    Press Advanced
