Windows 10: Microsoft 2 Factor Authorization

This is my second attempt at understanding this process through the community. I would like to enable 2FA without the use of the Authenticator App in Windows 10. Here's where the confusion is that I cannot get clarity on. I use Outlook on the web e-mail as well as on my IOS phone. When I set up 2FA it asks if I need to sync outlook on my phone and when I do, it generates a separate password for my phone. What exactly do I do with this password and is it the ongoing password that must be used on the phone, one for the phone and one for the computer? Does the phone prompt me for it when 2FA is s

Microsoft Account set to use 2 Factor Authentication & Authentication Phone App but it doesn't prompt for authentication when signing in to my Windows 10 PC locally or remotely (via RDP).

OK I created a 2nd Microsoft account and setup the Authentication App on an old phone I had lying around for 2-factor authentication.

Step 1

I logged into this website with that account and it prompted me with the Authentication App so 2 factor is setup correctly on the NEW Microsoft Account.

Step 2

I logged in on my Windows 10 PC with that NEW account and it also DOES NOT PROMPT for 2-Factor Authentication.

I tried to log in via RDP and, again, it DOES NOT PROMPT for 2-Factor.

My question remains unanswered.
