Windows 10: Microsoft 365 app opens with wrong dimensions

When the Microsoft 365 app opens on my laptop, by default the dimensions are wrong. The window is wider than the screen and not tall enough. I also found it insists on reverting to those same wrong dimensions if I include it in a Snap Group. Also, how do I stop another app automatically opening in full-screen mode, blocking the taskbar? Thanks.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Windows 10 Office 365 cannot open files from: recent file list

So far I can open files from the Recent files list when I enter Word itself, however I still am unable to open any documents using the Word icon pinned to the taskbar:
