  2. 3D Builder - Subtraction Bugs

I have been experiencing multiple issues when joining (merge function) and subtracting objects from other objects. Lots of triangular artifacts that look like root vertices are not endgons. Hard to see with the wireframe mode turned on what is really going
on. 3D Builder has promise ONLY if it gets a true mesh editor, or at least better than a simple slider for controlling subdivisions and vertex counts. It is simple and intuitive, but very limited in capability. There is no way to even round off a corner. Frustrating.
Please tell me you are working on a remesh editor?!?!?!

  3. 3d builder

    Hi Dennis,

I'm an engineer on the 3D Builder team.

It is a known bug in 3D Builder that some subtracts lead to objects that can't be repaired.

We apologize. We are however working on a solution for a future update.

    Thanks for letting us know.

  4. Microsoft 3D builder wont let me subtract

    3D Builder

    Hi David,

If we understand correctly, what you are looking to do can be achieved by inserting 2 cubes in the plain and using the
Subtract option on the second cube. This creates that hollow effect on the first cube. You just need to ensure that the second cube is slightly smaller than the first cube.

There are only a hand-full of useful functions in 3D Builder however, they should get tasks like yours done. You may check the list of functions
here in the 3D Builder user’s guide.

Let us know if you need further help.
