  1. Microsoft 4k Wireless Display Adapter not connecting properly to Win 10 PC

I am trying to set up a series of computers with individual wireless monitors attached to each one. We decided on using the Microsoft 4k Wireless Display Adapters because it should have been easier than running HDMI cables back to the computers. The first computer I set up connected to the wireless displays with no issues and I was able to connect to all four monitors to test if they all worked. However, when I moved on to the second, third, and fourth computers, I was unable to get them to connect to the displays. When I attempt to connect to them through the Win+K menu, the display says that

When I attempt to connect to them through the Win+K menu, the display says that it is connecting. The display will then go black for a number of seconds until both the hard wired monitors flash black a couple of times and the wireless display will disconnect from the pc. I have searched all over the internet, but have been unable to find someone having this same issue.

    I have tried:

    1. Updating windows

    2. Updating and reinstalling both the wireless and graphics card drivers

    3. Going through the whole wireless display adapter troubleshooting page on the Microsoft website

    4. Letting the wireless display adapter and WUDFHOST.exe through the firewall

    5. Turning on network discovery in the network and sharing center part of the control panel

    6. Running the network trouble shooter

    7. Making sure the DNS client was set to start automatically

    8. Resetting the adapter

    9. Powering the adapter and the computer off and on

    10. Changing the wireless adapter to be on the 2.4 Hz band

    11. Removing and Re-adding the adapter

    12. Confirming that the Win+K menu doesn't say that "Your PC or mobile device doesn't support Miracast, so it can't project wirelessly."

None of these have fixed the issue and I have run out of options that I can think of to try. The most confusing thing to me is that one of the computers works just fine, albeit fairly laggy, and the rest don't. I would have expected them to either all work or all fail since they are identical computers. Since all of the adapters are able to connect to the first pc, I am pretty sure it is a pc issue rather than an adapter issue.

I have the sysinfo file if needed, but here are the basic specs of the PCs.

Windows Wireless Display Adapter-not connecting anymore

    Hello Phillip,

Did you notice any changes on your PC prior to the issue? I suggest that you follow the steps outlined in this support article:
    Troubleshooting Wireless Display Adapters.

Since updating drivers did not work, in addition, you can try to reset the Wireless Adapter.

    1. On the adapter, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
    2. When the message " Ready to connect "shows, open the
      Action Center.
    3. Select Connect, and in the list of displays, select
      Microsoft
      Wireless Display Adapter.

Please respond to this thread to let me know how the issue progresses. Similarly, if you have more questions, please inform me by replying to this post.

Issue with connecting Dual monitor with Wireless Display Adapter

    Hi Penny Wells,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I can understand the situation must be difficult for you when things do not work as they should. However, we would need some more information regarding the issue.

    1. What is the make and model of the computer?
    2. What is the model of the TV?

This issue can occur if there is pending firmware update or the issue with the drivers. I would suggest you to follow the below steps and let us know about the results:

Method 1: Fix connections to wireless displays or docks.

I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned in the Microsoft article on
Fix connections to wireless displays or docks.

Method 2: Troubleshooting Wireless Display Adapters.

If method 1 doesn’t fix the issue, I would suggest you to follow all the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the Microsoft article on
    Troubleshooting Wireless
    Display Adapters
refer the steps ‘Having trouble connecting your device to the adapter?’

Note: The above article contains steps regarding Firmware update.
Modifying BIOS settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS
settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

If you would like me to provide additional advice, simply respond to this thread. I will get notified and I’ll reply to you as soon as I can.

    Hope it helps.
