    Microsoft accessed my computer without my knowledge and blocked my ability to suspend updates


    Without an update, my permission, or my knowledge, Microsoft accessed my computer and blocked my access to Windows Update and Update Orchestra in Services so that I can no longer suspend updates from being loaded onto my computer... This means that Microsoft can access everyone's computer without their knowledge...

    My Outlook.com experienced both yesterdy. I did nothing wrong, have checked for malware and followed all the steps to be normal. I was told I was unblocked then when I sent an email it said I am suspended. After an hour on the phone, to no avail, I tried this am and after verifying I was normalized.
    Someone was trying to access my account was the message that popped up.

    Has this happened to you and why does this happen if you follow the rules?
    What can I do to prevent this? I read about 2 step verification but this does not seem to help in this situation.

    How could a program on your computer block anything from accessing your router anyway?
    The router itself has to block things, I'd suggest using simple NAT and forwarding ports you need, the rest will be blocked.

    One computer cannot access other network computers.


    So I've tried every troubleshooting step I know:
    • Double checked that Net Bios was enabled
    • Ran a bunch of network commands:
      • flushed DNS
      • registered dns
      • pinged and located the named computers successfully
    • Reset my router to factory settings

    Nothing works when I try to access via explorer. I'm still baffled by the fact that every other computer can access each other AND access this computer. It's just the outgoing connection from this machine that doesn't work.

    Any thoughts?
