Windows 10: Microsoft Account. I want to create a new one for my new personal computer.

I just bought a new laptop for personal use. So I don't have to keep using my work computer for personal things. I have a work computer with a work Microsoft Account. I want to set up a MS account for my personal computer using my personal email address not my work address. I input my att.net email address. It said it did not exist so I seleted create new. Then I get a message that says this email is attached to another account, and log in with that one. I want to create a new one with my att.net address to keep it separate from my work computer. thoughts?

To create a Microsoft account

• Type Accounts in the search bar and select the same.
  
• Tap or click Add an account.
  
• Enter the account info to sign in to Windows. There are four ways to do this:
  
  • If the person you're adding already has a Microsoft account, enter it now.
    
  • If the person you're adding doesn't have a Microsoft account, you can use their email address to create one. Enter the email address that person uses most frequently.
    
  • If the person you're adding doesn't have an email address, tap or click Sign up for a new email address. It's free.
    
  • If the person you're adding is a child, tap or click Add a child's account.
    
• Follow the instructions to finish setting up the account.

Not seeing new accounts created on computer

Hi,

My apologies for the delayed response.

I suggest you to enable the Built-in Administrator Account and then try to create a new user account with administrator privileges.

Step 1: Enable the Built-in Administrator Account

1. Press
Ctrl+Alt+Del, select
Task Manager.

2. From the
File
menu, select Run new task.

3. Put a check mark next to
Create this task with administrative privileges
and tap or click
OK.

4. Type
cmd
and hit Enter.

5. Type
net user administrator /active:yes

6. When done, log out from your current account and try logging in again to Administrator account.

Step 2: Try these steps to create a new user account

1. Click on Start and select Settings or press
Windows logo key + I
and navigate to
Accounts
> Your

Account
> Family & other users.

2. On the right panel, click
Add someone else to this PC
under Other users.

3. If you have another Microsoft account try to use that or else follow the steps to sign-up for new and

switch with new Microsoft account.

4. Sign-out from the Administrator account and Login with new Microsoft account.

5. Once you're sign-in with new User Profile.

Disable the Built-in Administrator Account

on Start
and select Run, type
net user administrator /active:no

2. Close the elevated command prompt and
Restart
the system.

Am unable to create a new user. Accounts -> Add someone else to this PC options is not working to create a new account.

Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

Try few of the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

I suggest you to sign out from the current user account, restart the computer, sign-in and check with the status of this issue. As this might be a temporary issue.

Follow the below steps to create a new user account:

• Press Windows + X keys from the keyboard, click on
  Control Panel.
• Select User Accounts, click on Manage another account.
• Select Add a new user in PC settings, click on
  Add someone else to this PC and follow onscreen instructions.
