Hello, We have a laptop and its locked with the pin, the number associated is an old number and its a former employee who can't remember the pin. We cannot get access to the laptop at all without knowing this pin. How do we get past this?

Microsoft Account PIN and password

• Click Start menu and go to Settings.
• In Settings, click the Accounts icon.
• Click on Sign-in options.
• Change both your password and pin one by one.

i have set up a laptop for my son using his email, whenit asks to install programs it asks for a pin for my account and i dont know how to take it off please help

It sounds like you're encountering an issue where your Microsoft account's PIN is being requested when installing programs on your son's laptop. This usually happens when your Microsoft account is set as the primary or administrative account on the laptop. To resolve this, you can either remove your account from the laptop or change the account type for your son's account. Here's how you can do it:

1. Change Account Type:
   
   • Go to Settings on the laptop.
     
   • Select Accounts, and then Family & other users (or just Other users, depending on the version of Windows).
     
   • Find your son's account and click on it.
     
   • Select Change account type.
     
   • If your son's account is set as a standard account, change it to an administrator. This will allow him to install programs without needing a PIN from your account.
     
2. Remove Your Account:
   
   • In the same Family & other users section, find your account.
     
   • Select your account and click Remove.
     
   • Note: Before doing this, make sure your son's account has administrative privileges as described in the previous steps.
     
3. Microsoft Family Safety:
   
   • If your son's account is a child account under Microsoft Family Safety, you might need to adjust the settings in your Microsoft Family account online to allow him to install apps without approval.
     
4. Reset PIN:
   
   • If you prefer to keep things as they are but need to reset your PIN, you can do so by going to the sign-in options in your account settings and choosing to reset your PIN.

will FF lockwise work from my laptop. Have IP, don,t carry or use it.
