I have been following stuff about the use of and attitude towards unsupported/incompatible gear, including 'tricks' and 'tips' for bypassing or avoiding. That said, I found this article that's worth the read. This has all unfolded quickly and recently. There was, of late, some dynamic back-n-forth. At the end, the status quo holding fast. The final statement below refers to, on an unsupported machine. ******************Microsoft advises against risky Windows 11 upgrade pathStory by Robert KędzierskiMicrosoft has issued an unexpected

cheers Rob - - - Updated - - - ok didnt do the WIN10 downgrade as i suppose i'll have to get used to WIN11 one day and i went with the full factory reset and restored to off the shelf condition. just to point out for others when i got to setup connection where you have to create a MS account i couldn't do it as local machine, there was no "skip this step" to byapss and setup later. _____________________________________________________________________________ Out-of-box experience (OOBE) disable internet requirement To set up a Windows 11 device without a Microsoft account disabling the internet requirements, use these steps: Disconnect then Ethernet network cable (if applicable). Win11 upgrade not coming

If you checked again my previous replies, you can see ASUS re-installed my new notebook a even newer Win10 Home installation. After this 2nd time installation, I only did these to the toy:

    1. installed chrome
    2. changed its display brightness
    3. changed wallpaper
After your previous suggestion, the 1 month temp McAfee was gone.

I can't figure out why I can't upgrade to Win11 for such a new notebook. Newer notebook will come with Win11 natively Microsoft advises against risky Windows 11 upgrade path Pertains to both Win11 & Win10 Users :)
