Summary

Xbox FanFest is going digital.

Beginning October 12 at 6 p.m. PT, weâll open a year-round registration to join as an Xbox FanFest fan.

Once registered, fans can opt-in to participate in exclusive experiences offered throughout the year.

Xbox FanFest was created with a passion to give back to our fans. It has been an amazing 6 years of in-person FanFest events. We dearly miss connecting with the Xbox community and sharing these experiences with you. While our in-person events are on hold, we decided what better time than now to expand FanFest in a way that allows more fans the opportunity to come together throughout the year.

I am excited to share that we are expanding Xbox FanFest, adding digital exclusive experiences for fans to jump in and participate virtually in some really fun ways. By opening an ongoing registration site, fans can sign up to be an Xbox FanFest fan and opt-in to year-round exclusive experiences curated just for FanFest.

Starting at 6 p.m. PT on October 12, fans can register at https://www.xbox.com/FanFest. Fans must be 18 years of age or older to register and have an existing Xbox profile. Once registered, fans can log back in at any time to view upcoming activities and offers to opt-in for.

You will join our FanFest email list to be amongst the first to hear about upcoming FanFest exclusives.

First-access to select Xbox events, experiences, and merch drops.

Exclusive Access

Access to curated digital and physical experiences, and sweepstakes created just for FanFest.

100 Microsoft Rewards Points

Fans can earn 100 Microsoft Rewards points upon registration and your participation in exclusive experiences can often earn you additional points.

Speaking of exclusive access, our very first all-digital trivia event will be live for you to opt-in to when registration goes live. First, register as an Xbox FanFest fan. Details on Xbox FanFest: gamescom 2016

Xbox will give 200 lucky fans a one-of-a-kind experience at gamescom, the world’s largest video game consumer show. The Xbox gamescom FanFest Ticket will include:

An exclusive “Xbox FanFest Showcase” on Thursday Night, August 18, from 20:00 – 23:00 CEST at the Xbox Booth, Hall 8. Experience all the games and cool surprises in the Xbox booth after the crowds have gone for the night.

Special Xbox day-time activity on Wednesday August 17.

Meet and greet some of the industry’s top developers, leaders and influencers.

How can I get my Xbox FanFest: gamescom 2016 ticket?
The majority of tickets will be first-come, first-serve, one per-person, and be distributed Wednesday morning, August 17 in Cologne, Germany. We will announce the location on Wednesday morning, August 17. Be sure to follow Xbox on Twitter, Facebook, and Snapchat to find out the secret location.

When will Xbox make the announcement to line up and get an Xbox FanFest: gamescom 2016 ticket?
Lineup location will be announced at 10:00 CEST, Wednesday morning, August 17. Xbox FanFest tickets will be distributed in-person immediately after we reveal the location, in Cologne, Germany. Be sure to follow Xbox on Twitter, Facebook, and Snapchat to find out the secret location.

Is there an age-minimum to attend Xbox FanFest: gamescom 2016?
Yes, every ticket-holder has to be over 18 years of age. Parents with children under the age of 18 will not be allowed. We will require a valid, government-issued, picture ID (driver’s license, passport) as part of registration.

How many Xbox FanFest tickets can I get?
One ticket; one person – tickets are non-transferable and cannot be resold.

If I’m traveling to Cologne, are there hotel accommodations?
It’s up to the individual to pay for their own travel and hotel accommodations.

What if I can only spend a couple of days in Cologne; can you tell me now what the other surprises are for the rest of the week?
FanFest activities are only on Wednesday August 17th and Thursday, August 18th.

Will the 200 fans get tickets to attend the Consumer Days at gamescom (Thursday – Sunday)?
Xbox will not provide tickets to those days.

Announcing Details for Xbox FanFest: E3 2019 Xbox

As we enter the 5th Anniversary of Xbox FanFest, I’ve had to take several moments to pause and remember how far we really have come. Six years ago, this was just idea in a PowerPoint deck; words that matched a passion to give back to our fans. But it was only when we saw the fans lining up overnight in front of the Microsoft Store in Century City, to the tune of 500 by morning arrival, that we knew we had something special. Since then, from Sydney to Cologne, from Madrid to Milan, from Shanghai to Sao Paulo, Xbox FanFest has fulfilled not only my wildest dreams, but has given gaming fans everywhere a place to come together and celebrate Xbox like never before. And for that, I’m not only supremely grateful for the opportunities provide to me by Microsoft but, most importantly, to the fans who have loved this crazy idea from the get-go.

That’s why today, on April’s episode of Inside Xbox, I was so excited to reveal brand-new details on Xbox FanFest at E3 2019. This will be our biggest E3 presence ever, so I’m thrilled that 700 lucky fans will win a chance to experience the Xbox Briefing, a FanFest Showcase, and much more. This year, Xbox FanFest: E3 2019 begins on Sunday, June 9 at 9:00 a.m. PDT and ends Monday night, June 10, with fans then able to attend the E3 Expo Tuesday through Thursday.

Due to the tremendous demand for tickets, and in an effort to keep it as fair as possible for all Xbox fans, the ticketing process will once again be an online random drawing – fans who have an Xbox Live gamertag and are over the age of 21 will be able to submit their names on our submission website. The FanFest ticketing site will go live on Friday, April 19, at 9:00 a.m. PT. Fans should submit their name for a chance to win a FanFest ticket. The name submission window will remain open until Wednesday, April 24, at 12:00 p.m. PDT. At that time, the ticketing site will close, gamertags will be verified for authenticity, and the 300 winners will be chosen via a random drawing starting on April 25.

As was the case last year, this year each FanFest ticket will cost $45, with FanFest ticket winners being able to purchase up to two tickets each. Where FanFest has always been about paying it forward to passionate Xbox fans around the world, once again the fans will be able to pay it forward to others. All money raised from the sale of FanFest tickets will benefit a charity that we will announce in the near future. Further, we’ll have a special moment at E3 where FanFest attendees will get to see first-hand how their money will turn into something amazing for others.

So how will the ticketing work? You’ll need to submit your name during the open submission dates that we’ll be announcing soon. FanFest ticket random drawing winners are eligible for two tickets: one ticket to be purchased by the winner and one to be purchased by their Guest. During their registration process, winners will have 24 hours to purchase their ticket. The moment they are registered, they will be prompted to provide an email of their Guest. Important note: Inviting a Guest is optional! If chosen, a Guest will have 24 hours the moment the email is sent from the ticketing system to purchase their FanFest ticket. Guests will be responsible for their own ticket purchase. Last but not least, keep an eye on the random drawing dates, then watch your email inbox once the winners have been chosen.
