Windows 10: Microsoft apps are blacked out on start.

Almost every microsoft/ windows app is blacked out. Other windows apps which aren't pinned to start do not open and after I pin them to start they are blacked out too. I saw a post on reddit about it and few people said that they are updating. I have 70 mbps wifi so I don't see why its taking days to update. I am having this issue since 4 days. Pleaase help. If its related to having latest windows version then, everytime I try to install the updates, it installs it till 100% then it says "we couldn't complete the updates, undoing changes". I have a hp laptop- i5 9400h, gtx 1650, 8gb 2667 ram.

NEWLY added apps are not showing on Start App list

1. Is Cortana able to search the apps installed?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if that helps.

• Type Start Settings in Search and hit
  Enter.
• Turn on Show recently added apps in jump list of Start of Taskbar.

Windows 10 Black screen, Start screen, Critical Low Battery

I would suggest you try the power troubleshooter if you are able to boot into the system.

Follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key + W and type Troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting and click on System and Security.
• Click on Power and follow the onscreen steps.
