  1. Microsoft apps uninstalled automatically!

    Hello!

This is an unprecedented & totally unexpected problem I'm facing with Microsoft Office 365. Previously, I encountered Application Error while trying to open MS Word so I ran Online Repair over it. It had been running for over 4 hours & the process wasn't over, but my laptop shut down & the process halted. When I turned my laptop on I found all the Microsoft Office apps-Word, Powerpoint, Excel-which I most frequently use, were gone. All my Word files were converted into WordPad files.

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how this might have happened & how to solve the problem. Help me out here!

    :)

Apps getting reinstalled automatically after uninstalling

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that after uninstalling few applications, they get installed again. However, we will need the following information from you:

    • Are you able to uninstall the applications successfully?
    • Does this issue occur only with these particular applications?
    • Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently? To check type:
winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
      Enter.

Ideally, if you uninstall an application, it wouldn’t install again without users permission. It could be that the apps are showing as recommended applications. However, once you uninstall the applications, you can go ahead and check the installed
apps on the computer and see if the applications show up in installed apps. Follow the steps to check the same:

    1. Press Windows key + I, to open
      Settings
      .
    2. Click on Apps.
    3. Click on Apps & features.
    4. Scroll down and check if the applications are installed.

You may also, refer the steps mentioned below to avoid installation of apps:

    1. Press Windwos key + I, to open
      Settings
      .
    2. Click on Personalization.
    3. Click on Start on the left pane and toggle the switch for
Show suggestions occasionally in Start to turn it off.
    4. Now, open Microsoft Store.
    5. Click on Ellipsis (…) and click on
      Settings.
    6. Toggle the switch for Update apps automatically to turn it off.

Please reply with the status of the issue, we will be glad to help you further.

    Regards,

    Uninstall Apps in Windows 10

Hello Geoff, Microsoft apps uninstalled automatically! :)

Q1) If it's a built-in app, then the user can restore the app using that tutorial only if the app was uninstalled for their account and not for all users. Being able to restore an app that was uninstalled for all users using the PowerShell command is currently broken in Windows, and break all built-in apps if used. The only way to restore them then is to do a repair install.

Q2) That's correct. If a built-in app is not listed in under step 3 in OPTION TWO, then it can't and be uninstalled. Those would be apps that are used by Windows, and shouldn't be uninstalled. For example, Microsoft Edge.

Q3) I haven't tied it to know, but I would assume that to be so.

Uninstalled apps stuck "installing" in Microsoft Store (MSN News)

    Hi Will,

A corrupted Microsoft Store cache is one of the possible reasons why some apps are stuck in an "installing phase" when you try to uninstall them. We suggest that you try running the
Windows App troubleshooter to troubleshoot the issue.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you reset the Microsoft Store cache. You can follow the steps below to reset the Microsoft Store cache:

    • Press Windows + R keys to open the run
      command
      box.
    • Type WSReset, then try launching Microsoft Store and sign in.

Should you need further assistance, don't hesitate to get back to us.
