Windows 10: Microsoft Arc Keyboard not working in Windows 10 20H2

Since upgrading to Windows 10 20H2 my Microsoft Arc Model 1392 keyboard no longer works properly. It either doesn't type the letters or repeats runs of letters eg ggggggggggggggggggg. I've got 3 Microsoft Arc keyboards, all the same model, and I'm having the same issue with all of them.


I've tried updating the drivers but it says they're up to date.


I'm using a Microsoft Surface Pro i7.


Any ideas on how to fix this?

Microsoft Arc Keyboard 1392 not working with Windows 10

I have been using a Microsoft Arc Keyboard 1392 for years on Windows 7 with no issues.

Immediately after upgrading to Windows 10 my Arc keyboard intermittently shuts down (no keystrokes seen / power on/off doesn't work) and needs to have the batteries removed to start working again. It will then work for several hours to a day and shut down
again. This happened on 2 different Windows 10 machines while it does not happen on a Windows 7 or 8.1 machine. I have tried a brand new Arc keyboard with the same result. I have tried using multiple USB ports / rebooting / uninstalling and reinstalling
the keyboard software with no luck.

I then found the USB driver - Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Detection Driver (USB) - and rolled it back from the 2015 version to the 2013 version (I'm assuming that's Windows 8 / 8.1) and it now has worked for several days with no issues. At this point
I'm of the opinion that the Windows 10 driver has an issue. I can live with using the old driver but wanted to call your attention to it on behalf of other users.
