Windows 10: Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse is sporadically auto scrolling

I have a new Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse that I am using on Windows 10.I'll be in Word or Chrome and the mouse will just go into auto scroll by itself, often taking me to the very top or bottom of the page.I researched this issue and thought I could fix it by turning off "Scroll inactive windows.." under Settings Devices Mouse. But this does not work even after rebooting. Other advice was to uninstall updates which I am reluctant to do.Can anyone help with this extremely irritating problem?I'll be in the middle of an application and suddenly, for no apparent reason, the cursor turns to a

Arc Touch Mouse Not Scrolling

Hello Norman,

The Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them option might have been turned off that is why you cannot use the scroll pads. Kindly check if that option is turned off. You may follow these steps:

• Go to Settings, then select Mouse.
• Check if the Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them is turned off. If so, turn that option on.
  

If the issue persists, kindly uninstall the Arc Touch Mouse driver for the , then reinstall it.

Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition - How to Horizontal Scroll?

I suspect the mouse, but still not 100% sure...

So, all through the support call, I was referring to the Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition... they even remoted onto my Surface Pro, checked the settings, etc... seeing it was listed as the Arc Touch Mouse...

And what do I get in the post? The Wedge Touch Mouse Surface Edition! (Which, I can confirm, 'does' work with horizontal scrolling as you'd expect - stroke finger from left/right on the pad)

So, personally, my problem is solved, in that they've now sent me the one that 'does' work with horizontal scrolling - however, I'm still none the wiser on the Arc Touch Mouse itself!
