This is what is going on and Microsoft doesn't have a solution if the MDRT (Microsoft Device Recovery Tool) doesn't work. The majority of users... say it
doesn't work on the HTC phone. Then I've been told the best soluton is to buy a new phone...

Security Certificate Expiration on HTC 8X (PM23300)

On Monday, October 19, 2015, a security certificate on the Microsoft authentication servers was updated. This certificate change causes customers using AT&T HTC 8X devices to be unable to logit into and use a variety of Microsoft services. This severely
impacts the device experience.



How does that affect you?

• The HTC 8X device uses a security certificate named SHA-1 (pronounced “Shaw One”) to authenticate you on Microsoft services, such as Outlook, OneDrive, Xbox, Windows Store, etc.
• This security certificate has known vulnerabilities and is being replaced across the industry.
• Microsoft began replacing this certificate in their authentication servers on Monday, October 19, 2015.
• After this certificate is replaced, the HTC 8X device can no longer use Microsoft services, such as Outlook, OneDrive, Xbox, Skype, etc.
• Because of the age of the device operating system, the only way to change the HTC8X security certificate is to change the device firmware using the Microsoft Device Recovery Tool.
  
  • It cannot be changed by an Over the Air (OTA) update.
• This process should take about 45 minutes to complete.

We are quite lost with your story. How many Microsoft accounts were involved? Microsoft uses single sign-on, which means that all Microsoft services including Outlook, Office, Skype, OneDrive, Xbox Live, Bing, Windows Store, Windows, MSN, etc, share the
same username and password.

My wife can't play the MS solitaire game. All she get's is the start page that says loading and has spinning circles.

You might be right there. At least that would be logical.

 

Personally I understand completely the severity of the Solitaire situation and therefore suggest getting the Win 7 version from here: WinAero

Thank you for the information and your responses. since I thought it was a problem on my end I did a clean install on my computer as soon as it is done I will sign it to see if it works. Other than that I tested my mobile devices and I am able to sign in and they are working nicely. So I'm expecting my computer or Windows 10 also!
