  2. Microsoft Authenticator will not automatically detect the sign in request starting today......

It worked all the time before up until today when I try to sign into my outlook.com and there is no two step authenticator sign in request received on my iphone. But if I go into the Microsoft Authenticator app itself and click check for notifications,
I then receive the sign in request. But what I want is the old behavior where the notification will show up automatically. (I did not turn off Microsoft Authenticator notification, the notification in the iphone setting app are all enabled.)

  3. Microsoft Authenticator sign in requests not appearing on my phone.

    Hi,

A customer has shared a OneDrive folder with me and when I access this through my browser a sign in request is sent to the authenticator app on my phone. However since changing phones recently I have not been receiving the notifications.

My new phone is setup correctly in the Devices tab of My Account. I've also deleted and recreated my phone and authenticator sign in methods.

When I re-created the phone I received a text and when I re-created the authenticator I received a test sign in request, so both appear to be setup correctly.

I also contacted my customer who re-created the share on the OneDrive folder for me. I received the email but when I click on the link I get the same problem - a message telling me a notification has been sent but nothing appearing on my phone.

I've also checked my (Android) phone and both my SSMS app and Authenticator are set to allow notifications. When I hit the refresh button in the app there are still no notifications.

I'm at the point where I don't know what else to try.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Microsoft Authenticator

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want to how the Microsoft Authenticator App works.

The Microsoft Authenticator app helps you sign-in to your accounts if you use two-factor verification. Two-factor verification helps you to access your accounts more securely, especially while viewing
sensitive information. Because passwords can be forgotten, stolen, or compromised, two-factor verification is an additional security step that helps protect your account by making it harder for other people to break in.

You can use the Microsoft Authenticator app in multiple ways, including:

    • Respond to a prompt for authentication after you sign in with your username and password.
    • Sign-in without entering a password, using your username, the authenticator app, and your mobile device with your fingerprint, face, or PIN.
    • As a code generator for any other accounts that support authenticator apps.

I suggest you refer to the article for more information on
What is the Microsoft Authenticator app?and you may also
refer to the article about Microsoft Authenticator app FAQ

However, let me point you in the right direction where you can get the appropriate assistance regarding this issue. I suggest you to post your query in
    Microsoft Authenticator App forums
where we have expertise and support professionals.

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,
