Windows 10: Microsoft authenticator will not verify itself?

Installed Halo infinite on Steam and then the nightmare began.Launching the game I am greeted by Xbox lets get you signed in and I input my Microsoft email address but rather than ask for my password instead it wants to verify my account by using either the Microsoft Authenticator app or my alternative email address or send a text, the latter two I get nothing.As for the Authenticator app although i have installed it it too will not send verification codes to my email or phone.So I cannot:A Play the game.B Use the authenticator app I must add that I use another authenticator app which I hav
