Windows 10: Microsoft Basic Display Adapter not working properly error code 31

I've been getting "graphics device driver error code 31", but when i try to update my drivers both on my GPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 and on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter it says the latest drivers are already downloaded. When I then try to choose manually from the computer it fails.I've tried:Updating my GPU driversUpdating the Microsoft Basic Display Adapters drivers both manually and automaticallyChecked for updates on Windows UpdateInactivated and re-activated the Microsoft Basic Display AdapterUninstalling the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter and restarting my PCI don't know what

Hi everyone, thank you for your help in advance.

I have a hp pavilion dm3 laptop, after updating to windows 10 I found the following problems. my computer is running on a 32 bit operating system.

1. Cannot extend monitor to dual monitor.

2. Found code 31 when I look into device manager after expanding "display adapters" - microsoft basic display adapter.

"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

The driver trying to start is not the same as the driver for the POSTed display adapter."

Microsoft Basic Display Adapter not working properly

I have two of GIGABYTE RTX 3060TI 8GB installed on my pc, one of the GPUs is working good but another one is showing Microsoft Basic Display Adapter with an error on Device Manager.

Device status;

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)



The driver trying to start is not the same as the driver for the POSTed display adapter.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled NVIDIA and display adapter driver several times, But it doesn't go away.

 

Microsoft Basic Display Adapter error code 31

Lately I’ve been experiencing constant crashes after every 20~ minutes of gaming, at first I thought it was the new Nvidia gpu update then I tried the older versions and i still kept crashing, and I noticed an exclamation mark next to my Microsoft basic display adapter in the device manager, my first question, is this the problem causing my crashes? If so please how do i fix it because every time i try updating the basic adapter i get the 31 error code and the issue still remains
