Windows 10: microsoft book 1 wont disconnect from keyboard, keeps turning itself off

I have a microsoft surface one. It has been turning off of me recently for no reason. If I have it plugged in and remove the power source it turns off. If I start with it not plugged in and am just using office it just shuts off while the battery has plenty of power listed. I move the computer aside and it bounces a tiny bit it turns off.


I have tried everything (I'm a computer novice) short of resetting my computer to factory settings. I don't think this will help with what I think it has to do with. I've done the diagnostic toolkits but I couldn't take the power cord out because it died each time. I skipped that part and it was talking about disconnecting your tablet. I am unable to do that.


If i click the button for disconnect it flashes green a few times before it flashes a red light. Oh, also every time I do this it turns off my computer. I think all my issues might have to do with the connection between the keyboard and tablet but I can't prove this and I can't get them separated in order to try and figure this out and clean it.


Any help would be appreciated.

My hp laptop wont turn on

This is a frequent problem am sure as you have already seen from online searches.

Flea power is usually the culprit here, basically its residual power that remains on the computer even after thecomputer has been shutdown. You can drain the flea power with the steps the other answers have suggested.

• Disconnecting the battery and adapter
• Press the hardpress the power button for 30 seconds
• This should clear the flea power

F1 and F2 keys will not adjust the keyboard lighting up or down. It's stuck permanently on. The other F keys like volume up/down/mute etc work fine.

I've tried F1 and F2 with the Alt, Win, Fn, Ctrl all on and off. No luck getting the keyboard lighting to turn off.

The keyboard light will turn off when the screen detaches, but come right back on when re-attached.

As you have installed the latest drivers for the keyboard and are still facing the issue, I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Type troubleshooting in the Search box and press Enter.

• Click on Hardware and Devices and follow the on-screen prompts for troubleshooting.

Also, suggest you to unplug and plug the keyboard and check if the issue is with the keyboard connection.
