Windows 10: Microsoft Camera Not Recording Video Windows 10

So, F'ing tired of Microsoft products that work one day and not the other. Yes I have tried all of the proposed fixes and NONE of them work.The camera is not recording video. When the video record button is pressed it blinks, then stops recording and creates a file that can't be opened.Microsoft, can you please maintain your products or stop offering them to consumers! You don't even have camera listed in your sub-topic option!

How to open camera and start camera recording in windows 10 using commands

The Camera app in Windows 10 helps you to take pictures, record videos, or stream video while video chatting. To open the Camera, follow these steps:

• Right-click on the Start button and choose Run.
• Enter this command in the Run dialog box: microsoft.windows.camera:.
• Click OK.

Automatic recording is unavailable in the Camera app. To record videos, you first have to switch to
Video mode. Tap the Video button from the right side of the app’s window.

My camera will not record video.

• Have you checked to ensure there is disk space available in the drive?
• Do you receive any error when it stops recording?

Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps.

Method 1: Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Camera.

  Type troubleshooting in the search box on taskbar.

  Click on Troubleshooting in the search results.

  Click on Hardware and Sound and select
  Hardware and Devices and click on Next to run the troubleshooter.
  

Method 2: You may open store app and check if there are any updates available for camera app. If available, you may install it and check.

If the issue still persist, try the below method.

Method 4: This issue usually occur due to the driver is out dated. Let’s try the simple steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue. I would suggest you to uninstall/re-install the display driver from Device Manager
manually and check if this helps. Follow the below steps:

Step 1: To uninstall/re-install the display driver.

  Press (Windows key + X) and click on “Device Manager”.
  
• 
  Click and expand “Display Adapter”.
  
• 
  Right click on the device and select
  uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you done uninstalling the driver, it should automatically install the generic driver.
  

If the issue still persist, update the display driver and check.

Step 2: To update the display driver.

Microsoft Camera App Win 10 low frame rate for video recording

I have a fast laptop ACER V15 Nitro Black i7-6700, 16GB RAM, 256 SSD, GTX 960 4GB... I am trying to get decent recordings with the Microsoft Camera App. I have a Magewell xi100dusb-hdmi video capture device. Super simple HDMI in USB 3 out. To windows it
looks like a webcam but when I attach a nice camera to it, it looks like much, much better.

When I record a video using the Camera App, I have it set to 1920x1080P at 30PS. The actual recorded video is around 1/3 of that at 10-12 frames a second.

The lappy is fast enough. The capture hardware is good as I can run Skype video and transmit at 30FPS. Recording video with the built-in webcam record fine at 30FPS, but is looks like ****.

Any suggestions?
