Windows 10: Microsoft Child account can't play online Java Minecraft

I've followed every guide I can find to allow my child to play Minecraft Java Edition. Nothing works.I've set his account to allow him to join clubs, allow multiplayer outside of Xbox live and everything. Nothing seems to be working.

Enable multiplayer on childs minecraft java account.

I'm trying to enable multiplayer for my child's Minecraft java account. I have followed guides similar to this enable multiplayer minecraft pc for child - Microsoft Community I have tried multiple ways website and the Xbox safety app. However they can still not access multiplayer feature.

 

How to install Minecraft on Win11 child account

I own a copy of Minecraft, and also previously purchased one for my child as well several years ago. On our old Windows 10 PC, either I or the child could play. Now I have a new PC. I was able to install Minecraft and use it on my account.

However I cannot figure out how to get the app installed on the child's account.

In the store it reports it is 'Owned' but there is no button to install or play it. There does not appear to be a way to 'ask for permission' to install either. Same for the "Microsoft Launcher"

In Microsoft Family in the list of "allowed apps", "Minecraft for windows 10" is there.

2. Click 'My library'.

4. Select your child's account and click 'Share'.

Once you have shared your Minecraft Deluxe bundle with your child's account, they should be able to play the game using the Minecraft Launcher.
