  1. Microsoft crashed my AOL account

cFor over 5 hrs. yesterday (`0/23/19) I was in Microsoft HELL. No kidding. Entire time on the phone with them to try a fix a problem they caused. I'd say, if you can do without Microsoft entirely, do it.

Here is what happened to me. My subscription to Microsoft expired because they had an old credit card number on their files.

Hence, I could not get into my AOL e-mail account and could NOT open my attachments. I have some very important documents I needed to get to.

1st time I called the help number.....it was busy. 2nd time, I was put on "hold for well over 1/2 hr". Then finally got through.

We then attempted to "renew" my subscription, but it was impossible for both me and the "help desk" person. I was on with her for over an hour and half.

Finally requested her supervisor, who also tried and failed and then decided to UNINSTALL my Microsoft Office even though I had just purchased it.

Then she tried to re-install it.......but you guessed it. After more than an hour of trying to get it to install, she failed. She blamed my "internet connection"....even though I have 3 TV's working perfectly on the same internet. Then she said "your computer has been corrupted". Funny thing. It WASN"T corrupted UNTIL I tried to renew Microsoft Office!! Amazing.....you tell me this makes sense.

I admit I was furious with them at this time and said the "only thing corrupt is Microsoft"

    .

After another hr. & 1/2 waiting for it to install (it didn't)....she gave up and offered to have someone else in the tech dept call me "tomorrow" (meaning 10/24).

I said NO....I wanted it then. She told me it was a 3 1/2 hr. wait to get through to the techs. Then she told me she had tried for over an hr to reach them and no answer. I still insisted and she started to "refuse" my request to stay on the line, even if it took 3 1/2 hr.s.

It was then I found out that she was in the Philippines. That means MICROSOFT out sources it's help desk to the Philippines. No even a U.S. company!! Talk about American Jobs!! And you can barely understand anything they say.

It was 11:30 am there and she again stated it could take over 3 1/2 hrs before I spoke with a tech. She even started to give me "warnings".....which I stopped her in mid sentence.

We ended up with her getting OUT of my computer and me still with an open line on my phone waiting for further help.

Not more than 15 min. later (not 3 1/2 hrs)....a tech named Bryan picked up and he was able to fix my problem in less than 10 min.

NOW, NO ONE should EVER have to go through this!! Microsoft is NOT an American Company and NO ONE should use it if they can use someone else.

I am 75 years old.....had important work to do on my computer, was literally unable to do anything but be on the phone from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. 5 hrs. This can be verified with Bryan. No food...not able to go anywhere.....etc. (yes, a land line). Other people tried to reach me and couldn't..... it was a true HELL.

Stay away from Microsoft. They are corrupt. Get an American Company who hopefully has a "help staff" who know what they are doing.

BTW, the CEO is SATYA NADELLA . I was told it was "impossible to contact him"....but did get an address: One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052 phone 1-877 320-6738

    :)

    Microsoft crashed my AOL account

    AOL mail

    Hello MartyXF:

Thank you for posting to the forum regarding the issues you are having with your AOL account on your Windows Phone 7. At this point there has not been a lot of detail provided regarding the issue you are experiencing. With that said I am providing you
some basic troubleshooting steps and a couple links to other threads about issues that seem to be similar to what you are describing.

The first thing I would suggest you do is go to the phone and tap settings > time + date > turn off automatically set > set the time, date and time zone manually. Once this is done, go back to settings and tap on emails + accounts. Tap and hold the AOL
    account and sync.

If you still cannot get the account to sync the next thing I would suggest you do is delete the account from your phone and try re-adding it to the phone. You can do this by going to settings > emails + accounts > tap and hold the account > select delete
    > tap add account > select other account > enter the AOL account details.

If the issue continues please review the following threads to see if the steps in these help.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
