    Microsoft Defender Scans not identifying malware

    I accidentally installed a spam malware called loopdeviceconnection.co.in. This malware keeps spamming me with fake Windows notifications. I've run Defender in quick scan, full scan, and Microsoft Defender Antivirus offline scan. None of them show any issues. How can I remove this malware?

    :)

  2. Windows Defender has identified a severe malware program on my computer, but can't remove it.

    Computer using Windows 10. Malware identified by windows defender: "Trojan:Win32/dynamer!ac"

    Container File D:\preload\install.Wim

    File D:\preload\install.Wim->(image 12803)\program files (x86)\HPGames\FATE the Cursed King\Fate-WT.exe(EXEEmb)->(EXEEmb)

    File: D:\preload\install.Wim->(image24793)\SWSetup\HPGames

    There are several more lines of program installation for this malware, but I think the above should be enough to identify the malware on my computer. I have run Windows Defender Quick Scan, Full Scan and Offline Scan and Windows Defender has identified the
    malware shown above, but hasn't been able to remove it.

    I have downloaded and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware free trial edition and HitmanPro free trial edition and neither program identified any malware on my system.

    Suggestions?

    Hi Ian,

    Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    This issue might occur if you have set any task scheduler for Windows Defender.

    I suggest you to delete the task for Windows defender and check if it helps.

    Follow the below steps:

    • Search and open Schedule tasks.

    • In the left-hand menu, open the Task Scheduler Library, then select
      Microsoft >Windows >Windows Defender.

    • Double-click Windows Defender Scheduled Scan.

    • Select the Triggers panel, then select Delete.

    Hope it helps, reply to us with the status of your issue. We will be happy to assist you.
