Windows 10: Microsoft designer compact keyboard says it is paired but isnt working

My keyboard somehow stopped working AGAIN. It was working fine and suddenly when I type no words appear. This problem seems to happen every time there is an update to my Windows laptop. It says it is paired to my laptop but the light flashes slowly when I type and no words appear. It will pair and work well with my Google Pixel phone on the number '2' bluetooth spot. I have tried unpairing my phone and re-pairing with the laptop but it doesn't work. I think this is because it is still connected to spot 1. The number 3 spot is completely unavailable now for some reason, I can't access it. I hav

Microsoft designer compact keyboard no connected

I have Designer Compact Keyboard which works fine on Linux system on the same machine. However, on windows 11 it pairs and works fine the first time but when doing system reboot, it just pairs but doesn't connect. I also have Microsoft ergonomic mouse which works fine after reboot. I looked around and tried multiple solutions but with no luck. Now, when I go to settings>Bluetooth & devices> Designer Compact Keyboard it says Paired only.

 

One Dell laptop with 2 Designer Compact Keyboards -paired but not connected

I am aware of the present situation is that you are having trouble with your keyboards. It sounds like you have two Designer Compact Keyboards that you want to use with one laptop, but they are not connecting properly.



According to the Microsoft Support website -<Use Microsoft Designer Compact Keyboard - Microsoft Support>, the Designer Compact Keyboard can be paired with up to three devices, but it does not support multi-device connection.

This means that you will need to unpair it from the current device and pair it to the second one to change devices. Essentially, two Microsoft Designer Compact Keyboards of the same model emit the same Bluetooth signal, i.e. Bluetooth 4.0+ protocol.This could explain why Windows Settings Devices shows only one device, as it might be recognizing the keyboards as the same one.

To pair your keyboard with another device, press the pair button on the top left of your keyboard for 5 seconds or until the LED light starts to flash. The light will change to the next Bluetooth slot and your keyboard will enter pairing mode.

If the notification to Connect appears on multiple PCs, select it on the PC you want to pair to then follow the instructions

Bluetooth connection problem with Microsoft Designer Compact Keyboard

I recently bought the Microsoft Designer Compact Keyboard, it pairs to my Win10 laptop but doesn't connect and doesn't work. Unpairing, re-pairing, updating all the drivers, and restarting BT services didn't solve the problem. The keyboard connects and works fine with other laptops, other BT devices connect and work properly with my laptop.
