Windows 10: Microsoft did it again with build 10049....

Well last time i could go back to build 9926, want to do that again, but get the feeling that it will not do any good.

So back to the ridiculous start, back to the search web and windows on the taskbar, which for me always does a search on the internet....

Bye bye Start menu, bye bye "all apps", which are not all in the new start when you hit the left corner. I see 88 apps instead of 175 (give or take).

When you scroll down in the apps (my god, this takes for ages) and hit START MENU, go get Windows Explorer.

Any special reason? if you hit Explorer on the taskbar you get the same....

Who wants to scroll 4-5 times down to arrive at Explorer?

You open the start on the left and can get a full screen of it with nothing in it. So why not put all the apps there, instead of what one gets now..... There is absolutely no reason for that.

i am adding.....the "Web and Windows search" does not work. Store does not work. Bio does not work......

When hitting het left corner one gets a black box with search in it, which you cannot use, so why put it there?

Had to vent....

It's still a no go, i've been an insider since the 10049 build to the 10166 build technical preview build none of those build had these problems, i just encountered this after upgrading from windows 7 to 10 official release and then i did a clean boot
just to be sure and still i have this problem.

I'm afraid I don't really understand much of anything you are venting about....

You seem to be complaining that they keep giving us the new start menu? That's a bit like complaining that they sun keeps rising in the east...

 

The start menu is a thing that's not going away.. it's the new feature.

 

It's quite obvious that W10, (Build 10049), in it's present state, with a local account and no features or permissions enabled, is pretty featureless and almost useless.
Once you sign in and sync an MS Account, things start to work well for you. (When they work!) *Wink

 

Well Edwin,

with build 10041 i could use the Web search and Windows search without signing with my MS account. I like to keep this local, have no interest in doing everything on the web.

And guys, this start screen is a step back for the reasons i mentionned above.

Hi Jeff,, It seems that a lot of people complained that the start menu was gone in Win8 and MS supplied what the customers wanted. I know some like the start screen.. but that's gone.. In the end, you can still use Win8 and use classic shell and get the start menu and the start scree.

 

I don't think the Good 3rd party app companies have yet to unveil their wares.. This is a test of the PREVIEW. All the bells and whistles you could possibly want will come out of the woodwork down the road. Peace......

 

True.. But I suspect that their final products will be similar to what the betas look like.. MS has made it impossible to access or use a start screen in the last build and that's not coming back.. ever. It's going to be adapt to the new start menu or stick with Win8 to have a start scree.

 

What, there`s another build out, 10049 ? I have to hook my drive back up and re upgrade again ?

I thought 10041 came out less then 2 weeks ago ? *Doh
