Windows 10: Microsoft Direct x runtime june2010

Can i uninstall direct x runtime june2010 from my laptop after successfully installing ?

  Press Windows + R keys together.

  Type dxdiag in the run prompt and hit enter.

  Now check for the version of Direct x.

Direct X and runtime

- Can you give more details of what is happening and exact error message if there is one ?

Are the games all from the same source ?

"I have to do a bunch of diagnostics to figure out what happened..."

- So you need different fixes each time, or just forget what you did the last time ?

"Why is it that updating my WIN OS deletes runtime and directX files? "

- It doesn't... or shouldn't.

Did you look in in System32 and sysWOW64 and find some DX files have actually gone missing ?

Not sure what you are referring to by 'runtime' but I've never had an update delete\uninstall C++ or .NET either.

- What is fairly common, especially with games from Steam, is some games need to have their files validated (verify integrity of game cache)

after every version update.

Don't know why. Maybe something to do with the DRM those games use seeing a new Windows version and throwing a wobbly ?

- The following is a list of the Direct X .dll's you will have when the files are up to date.

In the Windows\System 32 and SysWOW64 folders you should find... d3dx9 - 24 > 43 . Then d3dx10 - 33 > 43 & finally d3dx11 - 42 > 43.

There should also be - d3d9, d3d10 and d3d11 (among others). These come before the D3Dcompilers-33>43+47.

- Win10 currently has only two d3d 12 files. One in System 32,and SysWOW64 .

- There are more DX files, but these are most of the graphics related Direct X .dll's

 

My graphics hardware doesn't support the new version 12 direct x. How do I roll direct x back to 11?

I suggest you to follow the steps to roll back the direct x from the below link and check if it helps.

• Press “Windows+X”.
• Click on Device Manager.
• Locate and Expand the Display Adapter.
• Right-click on the Display Device.
• Click on Rollback.
