Microsoft downloaded games, apps, and programs will not launch.

The majority of games, apps, and programs that were preinstalled or I installed will not launch. They wont even visibly try and launch, an error message just pops up a few minutes later stating either A, that Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. and that I may not have the appropriate permissions to access them. or B, it says it cannot find the file at all. The Microsoft Store will open, but won't launch games or apps. The Xbox app will also open, but also wont launch games. I tried using Powershell to uninstall and reinstall the Microsoft store, but it wont launch at all

    :)

  2. Where are my downloaded Games?

    Hi Brandon,

Games downloaded from the Microsoft Store website or through the Windows Store app are added in the Xbox app's Game list. To access this, kindly perform the following steps:

    • Select the Start button, then select Xbox.
    • Sign in using the Microsoft account you've used to download the game.
    • Select My games. Games you have on that device will appear there.

If you can't see the game, it may be because the game was not automatically added on your Game list. To add it, proceed with the steps below:

    • Select the Start button, then select Xbox.
    • Sign in using the Microsoft account you've used to download the game.
    • Select My games.
    • Select Add a game from your PC.
    • You'll see a scrollable list of all Win32 games and programs that have
      Start
menu shortcuts. From the list, find Solitaire HD and add it to your
My games menu so you can quickly browse for and launch the game.
    • Once you've selected your choices, select Add selected games at the bottom of the pop-up window.

Don't forget to notify us with the results. We'd be glad to further assist you.

  3. Microsoft signals end of Paint program

Microsoft has confirmed that it will continue to offer its graphics program Paint.

In a recent update, it had listed Paint as a feature that would be either removed or no longer developed.

Paint, renowned for its simplicity, has been part of the Windows operating system since its launch in 1985.

Microsoft suggested it would not remain on Windows 10 by default but did say it would be available for free on the Windows Store.

  4. Microsoft downloaded games, apps, and programs will not launch.

I have windows 10 and just installed flight simX and now I cannot find where to open the program. It is in the list of apps allowing uninstall but not in a list I can open Please help

    Hi Brian,

Games downloaded from the Windows Store can be launched in the Xbox app. If you've downloaded the game from a different location, you may access it by selecting from your Apps list. For us to have a better overview of your concern, kindly answer the following
    questions:

    • What happens when you launch the game by selecting it from your Apps list?
    • Have you tried launching other games and check if the same issue occurs?
    • If possible, kindly send us a screenshot of the issue you're encountering.
Meanwhile, we suggest checking if the game is listed in your Windows 10 Game Library. Here are the steps:

    • Open the Store app, and then select the profile button.
    • Select My Library.
We also recommend performing a clean boot. This process will prevent third-party programs to automatically run on your system's background. These third-party programs may cause software conflicts when launching the game. Refer to

How to perform a clean boot in Windows
    for the steps.
